I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing in the end, but it certainly means that some people just never learn to play well unless they get some honest feedback and accept it.The following is a generic process to install a plugin for ACT. The nice thing about this game is that even without a dps meter you can usually pretty much isolate the problem, but people are too nice to tell people they're bad. Messaggio originale di Big Chief Devil Hawk Fireball: Iirc they fixed summoner though, right? I still don't see many people using it seriously. If you're saying that the dummy won't show damage properly if you one-hit it, then that would be especially true for other classes since they do well more than that too. Hell, even in a place where AOE damage is useful I would rather take a blm, because flare is/was better. AOE damage is useless in a raid, which is really the only place dps mattered in this game. Summoner was not good and I would always take a blm over a summoner. It wasn't that the game didn't report the dps increase, it was that there WAS no dps increase because summoner was broken and worthless and that's why they were only rarely included into actually serious raid groups. Monk was the end-all be-all DPS max pre-expansion (and still, I think, not 100% on newer things still) and summoner was BROKEN for a long time. I don't think you actually use a parser, because it certainly does track summoner damage fine. alternatively as a smn I could do 300 damage 5x, which would show up as a total of 1.5k in the combat log/parsers yet would take approx 6 to 8 times longer than the 1-hit. Lets use the FC housing training dummy as an example, The dummy has around 1.5k, hp I can 1-hit it (doing approx 1.7k damage) with smn yet only show 1k damage in my combat log (and any parser), while a mnk/drg could 1-hit it and show 1.8k damage. I'm not saying smn can ALWAYS out-dps a mnk/drg but a parser will ALWAYS make them out that way because the combat log ignores the additional damage caused by their damage boosts and also (more significantly) the damage caused by their DoTs. And presume the target is standing relatively still (as it would be if a tank just pulled it). I'm talking mainly about single-target damage of a smn. This is why ppl use parsers and meters Which don't work for smn. how many targets, weaknesses, support and how much movement is needed by the player. in a closed enviroment you could make either be the better by changing the variables ie. Then again I came from WoW where this type of stuff was pretty standard, and people werent nearly as defensive as they are here. Your always are going to find elitists willing to kick you for the minor things but when I have a random pug and we hit the enrage timer we simply have to break the group up because "this group cant clear" when we could easily isolate the problem with a dps meter and actually WORK on the problem instead of just cutting our losses. Thats the point though, only a vocal few are going to kick you for not being "MLG pro". That and ya know, getting bigger numbers is your job as a DPS and a DPS meter helps with that.īut that's the issue people using the parser to cast judgement on other players for not being totally MLG pro. I know theres alot of casual players that dont want to worry about such things, but when most of the bosses have some sort of enrage timer, high DPS is not an unrealistic demand. Messaggio originale di Dros Hyrozan:Honestly I dont see this as abuse >.>, If Im doing subpar DPS for my class, I would expect to get kicked pretty fast.
